Someone buying a shape. The Speedster E is styled after the Porsche 356 Speedster and priced accordingly, and the owner it fits has a private mooring, a short favourite run and no particular need to go far. Judged on those terms it is a coherent object, and there is very little else in the electric market offering this kind of period-roadster styling.
The numbers, and the price
The published 50 nm applies at 5 knots displacement speed, not at the 30-knot top speed — and with a 30 kWh pack behind a 100 kW motor, sustained fast running would be measured in minutes rather than hours. Treat the top speed and the range as two separate, non-overlapping modes of use rather than a single capability. Thirty kilowatt hours is a small battery by current standards, and it is the figure that defines this boat's real usefulness.
