The cheapest way into a hand-built Austrian hull
The Eclipse 580 is the smallest boat Marian lists, and at 5.8 m with just 1.8 m of beam it is the most modest in every sense. That narrow beam matters: it makes the boat easy to fit into a tight lake berth, straightforward to trailer or crane, and cheap to keep, but it also caps how many people can sit comfortably and how settled the boat will be with everyone on one side. This is a two-to-four-person pottering boat for a private mooring on a lake or a sheltered river, not a family day boat.
Judge it only once you have a specification
The honest caveat is large. Marian publishes no motor output, no battery capacity, no top speed and no passenger count for the Eclipse, so the €38,700 starting price cannot meaningfully be set against the €41,000 Delta 600 — the Delta at least tells you what you are buying. Since the yard builds to order across a wide motor range, that base figure most likely reflects the most basic drivetrain available. Ask for a written specification, confirm whether the price includes VAT, and only then compare. Series-built rivals at this length routinely publish a full powertrain sheet, and against them the silence here is a genuine disadvantage.
